PrismTech and Nextel Engineering Systems Join Forces to Provide Real-Time Data and Messaging Solutions

Nextel Engineering Systems partners with PrismTech to better serve vertical markets across the Iberian Peninsula

Edinburgh, UK – 25 November, 2009 — PrismTech™, a leader in high-performance software integration and infrastructure solutions, is joining forces with Nextel Engineering Systems™, a Spanish systems integrator providing solutions to the Defence, Aerospace, Security and Transport sectors, to deliver much-needed, highly-reliable and Real-Time data management solutions. As part of its software and services offerings, Nextel Engineering will now deliver and support PrismTech’s best-in-class suite of middleware products.

The key focus of this alliance will be around OpenSplice™ DDS, a high-performance, Real-Time publish/subscribe middleware, which enables Quality-of-Service (QoS) enabled Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and net-centric applications. OpenSplice DDS’s basic kernel is available under Open Source licensing but optional subscription bundles are available from PrismTech that include both professional support and value-adding features and tools. OpenSplice DDS offers a unique ability to provide low-latency, high-throughput and yet predictable and robust data dissemination across distributed systems. The preferred solution in the Mil/Aero sector in Europe, OpenSplice DDS is also increasingly recognized for the value it can add to performance critical systems in other vertical markets, such as financial services, manufacturing, SCADA, transportation, and telecommunications.

“We offer a ‘one-stop’ service with a team of experienced specialists delivering solutions that fit today’s demanding mission critical system requirements,” said Rafael Castillo, managing director of NADS, the Nextel Engineering Division for Aerospace, Defence & Security. “We are extremely pleased to be able to work with PrismTech. OpenSplice DDS, OpenFusion® and Xtradyne™ are a perfect complement to our software and services. We are also ready to help PrismTech to develop the Iberian Software Defined Radio market. The combination of PrismTech hi-tech and Nextel Engineering solutions will give our customers the competitive advantage they need to truly implement Information Superiority and make the shift to interoperable Network-Centric environments.”

“Working with Nextel Engineering, one of the most sophisticated users of DDS technology in Spain, makes a lot of sense,” said Jean-Paul Marbeau, VP, Strategic Development, PrismTech. “We are experiencing growing interest for DDS in the Iberian market, especially in the defence, transportation and aeronautics sectors where NADS systems’ expertise will excel in providing local support for our technologies, and their effective integration into end user mission systems.”
